I got styled this shimpaku last year and just took the wire off because it started to bite. I took off a lot at the time and it has grown great this season. I know I need to wire the foliage. And I know I need to reduce the apex to 1 just left it on because I didn’t want to take off too much at once.

Getting rid of the first branch and reducing the first Jin and dropping that branch down low

Another idea is bending the apex down and turning that into a branch that dips low and creating a new apex, doing this I can also extend the Shari up to where the apex is

Or I can let it grow for another year to gain some size. I’m in no rush might just take branch every year until I see where I want to take it. Just spit balling would love to hear your thoughts.
