Went to a couple sites that don't seem to be working. One that works but the pictures are all red x and the email doesn't work. I was curious about some nice collected yews. Anyone have a good email?

I think he moved to PA quite a few years ago but have no idea of any contact info. His posts on IBC stopped probably 4+ years ago unless he returned as another user name.

He has not stopped in here for quite a long time... used to be a regular. I miss his posts. He is a good guy.

Jason,

I am not sure how well Yew do here. Do you see a lot of them in people's landscapes in Hickory? I think they are a little put out by our hot summers and mild winters.

Martin

My yews seem to do just fine here in N.GA after almost four years...honestly not what I expected.

Dav4,

Those are nice yews. I am glad that they are doing well for you after the move from Massachusetts. Have you really been in Georgia for 4 years already?

Jason,

I stand corrected. You may want to contact Dav4 and see if he is doing anything special. Otherwise, give it a go and see what happens.

Regards,
Martin

I'm working on a few collected landscape yews myself, and they seem to be fairly bulletproof with our hot humid summers and mild winters. They are pretty amazing for conifers in that they can almost be treated like deciduous materials when it comes to repotting, cut backs, etc.

Martin,

I have a Yew or two. Not one problem with them. They have been sitting in nursery buckets and soil for years and have outlived my other neglected nursery plants. Been pretty amazing. Thinking about working it this year.

The nursery down the street has some yews. I usually buy from their trash pile, stuff they throw in the woods and sell to me for a couple dollars. They also will special order occaisionally. He gave me a cheap price on 3 and 5 gallon black pines that he has to order, but i am concerned ordering them completely blind. Though I guess they could always become landscape trees.

I know, hard to believe that this will be their 5th summer in GA...all of them are loaded with buds and about to push. They are all good trees so I'm glad they like it here.

I lived in New Orleans and had yew hedge in my house, grew like crazy.
