It is normal, or do you have some chlorosis (those dark green veins in yellowish-green leaves)?
Regardless, kinda pretty!

Possibly chlorosis. I just gave it some nitrogen and other goodies. It is normal, or do you have some chlorosis (those dark green veins in yellowish-green leaves)?

That sounds like a good idea. I'd consider it, but the problem is It may set it up for reverse taper.May please suggest to cut from bottom side, pull wound closed with wire? Will heal closed sooner.
Thanks! There's an obvious saw cut in the red circle that I'd like resolved before a pot. And looking at pictures, would you say I'm going in a good direction as far as styling?Like uniqueness in this one. It is ready for a pot.
How do ya picture、Brian? Oooh the pressure is upon me! ? I'll give it my best.I really dig this tree. I wish I could fast-forward 5 years and see it “finished” in a nice pot. I can almost picture it now!
I envision a mirror image of @William N. Valavanis kiyohime maple. Though I’d go for a baby-Blue Juno pot to compliment the killer purple fall color. How do ya picture、Brian? Oooh the pressure is upon me! ? I'll give it my best.
It's been yellows. For red and orange, you may need to graft a cultivar if it's not too impractical. Here, I'm fortunate to have Metro Maples in Fort Worth. They patented the 'Red Dragon' which can have colors orange to red depending on the conditions. For this bonsai, I'm hoping for yellow.@thumblessprimate1
How has the fall color been the past few years?
Mine has shown nothing but bright yellow, was hoping for the nice reds and purples but so far nothing close....
Would definitely like to see yours with it's fall show!
