has anyone started a tree from cuttings of a Bougainvillea ??
and if so, how did it turn out ??
I'm starting 3 in a couple days.
searching through tree photos one of which was a ficus, it gave me a great idea.
I'll start one from a banyan tree as well.

I have started a few Bouganvillia from cuttings. No problem with that, other than time.

Whether starting trees from seed, or from cuttings, the tree will have to grow for a number of years, 5 or 10 years or possibly even more depending on your vision for the end product. Only after growing out for a number of years will you be able to start to apply bonsai techniques.

But time is no reason to not do it. Just be patient and let it grow.

While your bougie and ficus cuttings are spending time putting on size, pick up some older, larger material to actualy practice technique on.

The bigger the Bougie cutting the better it takes. There is no sizelimit, especially if you grow trees in South Florida.

Best,
Dorothy
