A few of these trees were growing on the side of a public road bike trail here in town. This trail runs through wooded areas where there are oaks, maples, cypress, etc. The trees were approximately 20-30 feet tall. All had these small blooms. The bark was crenalated like a live oak might be except with lighter colored bark. The flowers were very fragrant. I took about 5 cuttings from it to see if I can get them to root. Very interesting tree in my opinion. Any ideas what it might be?

Hard to tell from my phone. ..kinda looks like Indian Hawthorne

Almost looks like some form of privet, I'm not sure if it's Indian hawthorn as they don't grow that tall, at least where I am they dont

Bumelia? This is from the net. Bumelia SPP was in University of Fl, IFAS, for domestic trees

Could be a type of Ilex. We have several listed as natives. Ilex Casine. Vomitoria, Opaca.

After further research I do think it is bumelia, Sideroxylon lanuginosum
