I’ve noticed a few of these trees recently, and was wondering if someone could tell me what they are. I tried some googling and online tree identification tools and haven’t had any luck.

Could be Cercidiphyllum Japonicum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cercidiphyllum_japonicum but I could be wrong can you get pictures of leaf arrangement on the stems, bark, buds and flower or fruit. Pictures of these traits are very helpful in identifying a tree.

You nailed it. I did some more googling, thanks to your help, and found pictures that matched up. A little more googling led me back here to old threads about folks using them for bonsai. Which was why I was asking about it in the first place. Thank you.
