The maple got a new pot by Walter Venne. To many this will be a big surprise. Ten years ago one could not get a red pot nor could one sell it. Now it's still very new and somehow daring to use one. In ten years it will be common. A shift in taste is going on.

Wow! Very nice tree Walter, and that pot goes very well with it. Thank you for taking the time to post!
By the way, speaking of red pots, have you seen Kai Sperlings red pots? The colour on those is wonderful!

Beautiful tree, and pot. I love the different reds that are being used. In the US I jave seen some beautiful redbpots from John Cannon. I don't know if anyone on here from the states owns one.

Wonderful trident!
The change in 'front', with more emphasis placed on the connection between rock and trunk is for the better. Were the gaps between the trunk + rock hidden with this move or by some other means?

The gaps wer partially hidden. Then I took some cut off root garbage and stuff it forcefully into the void. If the birds tear it out I can easily renew it. After a few years the space will be closed as the tree grows more vigorously in my garden with my aggressive feeding and, watering and hedge pruning regime. Yes - this tree is hede pruned. Pinching was yesterday.

Beautiful !!!

As to red pots. The Chinese have been producing a variation
of their copper red for many years now.
Can be purchased from a company in Georgia.
Have few by the way, since 1990 or so.
Good Day

Autumn (fall) colour in that pot should be pretty nice, it should all tie together beautifully. ??

Beautiful tree. Interestingly I like all of the pots except the red one. I kinda like the blue one best.

That's interesting, gorgeous maple, not used to seeing one in a red pot though.
But I gotta say the more I look at it, the better it becomes :)

This is part of why I chose the red pot this late summer.

I've been looking at these for a few minutes now and I think that my eyes are drawn to the pot more than the tree. It may be just me, but I feel it detracts from the tree... Try using a complementary colour or a less vibrant red instead?
