Lovely tree Walter. I really enjoy the silhouette.

Can you comment on your approach to a target thickness of the primary branches? I would have assumed the lowest 1-2 branches would have a larger diameter given the overall girth of the trunk.

Sure, that's the typical rtesult of old-fashioned trunk thickening without primary branches. The overwhelming majority of these trees will never have primary branches that ate thick anough. It takes some skill and enless time - like 20 years.

Great tree , fine example of a Trident Maple .. not sure what that Count Dracula guy was saying about your hedge pruning .. but looks great and wonderful taper

But, amazing color this year. The golden yellow with red is spectacular.
