I like the display though. Perhaps if you had a tall root stand, that might work better for the red pine? Just an idea.

My line of thought: Shohin box stand & square stand feel too similar. Tall root stand would provide contrast and pair well with the exposed roots of the red pine.

Regardless, I really like it! Nice to see thought going into display!!!

I wish I had a nice root stand! Good idea, though. I have another cascade stand for the red pine. Shorter, wider, and it's a hexagon shape.

The kusamono was just something we found to put there. Yes, it's much too large.

I also have a wood stand that matches the base of the box to go under the red pine and kusamono.

For those who can't see what the trees are:

Top: Japanese Black Pine
Upper Left: root over rock Trident Maple
Upper Right: Hinoki Cypress
Lower Left: azalea (will be Olive)
Lower Right: Zelkova broom style
Far Right: Japanese Red Pine

Very nice trees that you have for that display. Will be good to see with the olive.

I'm with Andrew on this...

You uncrated that stand and went right to work huh?

I love the shohin stand itself...
Great color.

Trees move good!
Where is the olive? San Fran?

How about a clean background?

Nice trees and nice stand.

I don't like the high stand that the JRP is on. It seems to be competing with the main part of the display. I think a lower tree would be more appropriate.

I love the way the trident is reaching out to that hinoki, it really works that space...

I agree. I have an alternative, lower stand. I didn't have it with me for a picture. Sorry.

That Box is it's permanent storage box. Stored and moved about in the box. Opened only when used for display and practice, then back in the box. They're very fragile.
