Hey guys,

Is there a section or good website where I can learn all the terms and types of bonsai? I've been reading a lot of the threads but not always understanding the diction. I have a few trees ive been just growing (Japanese red maple, Bald Cypress, Chinese elm) and im looking forward to everyone's input on how to proceed with them. But I was just to be educated so I understand the advice im given. Thanks!

Bonsai4me has good articles; just remember there will be a British orientation.

Evergreen Gardenworks' site -- www.evergreengardenworks.com -- has many well done articles.

But the web is a damned poor way to learn bonsai.

I think one of the best beginner books still available is Herb Gustafson's "Bonsai Workshop."

The BEST way to learn is to find a local bonsai club.

Bonsai is like learning a language or an instrument. Rosetta Stone is okay, but nothing compared to having a friend who is a native speaker, or plays the guitar. The advancement is exponential with local people in the know.
