Walter,
Do you have any techniques for managing the growth of Tsuga that you would share with us for developing ramification and/or encouraging back budding, or does it get the same “hedging” type treatment as the rest of your breathtaking material?
I have a couple Tsuga canadensis that I am developing and there is a dearth of techniques specific to Tsuga. Thank you for sharing with us!

Nice tree!
Are those slabs man made or natural rocks that have been sculpted?

Overall the tree looks great. I did notice a few needles that showed a possible disease/fungal issue in the past. Do you know what that issue was and how it was treated?

I do not know the issue and it was not treated. Most of the time such things go away by themselves.
