Defoliated my Turkey Oak today. The foliage was completely shading out the inner buds and branches and needed to go.

Made a pile of leaves.
Most oaks respond well to defoliation if they are healthy. Its a very effective way to get faster ramification and inner budding.
This isn't a particularly good bonsai but it is unusual enough that I'm kind of enjoying it. I think it is starting to look like a typical oak.
