Half of that slingshot needs to get cut off.
Either can be used, but then you get to design whats left.

Unless you go two line. Apex and cascade.

No offense, but it doesn't look like it has been worked for 8 years, it looks like a 1 gallon home depot juniper drastically cut back and plopped into a pot. Not even sure it a procumbens, think those have needle foliage, but maybe im wrong.

I agree that one of the branches should be cut off. Perhaps wiring one of them and adding some movement. Also might try to clean up those roots.

Actually, it has not been cut back in two years. I did remove a dead branch stub on the back side just before I took the picture. It definetly is a procumbens though, looks you are are wrong on both counts, but I appreciate the comment. I guess I did manage to pull off that 1 gallon home depot juniper look I was trying to accomplish though...:)

Slighshot? neither branch is opposite of each other, I tried to demonstarte that with the pictures, the one on the left is at least half the size of the one on the right and it grows off that one and then angles slightly back for the first inch and a half then bends left and forward slightly, the larger branch on the right rises straight upwards two and a half inches then bends sharp towards the back of the pot for just over an inch and then bends to the right and then comes forward towards the front of the pot. I guess its hard to see in the pictures, but I am happy with the style and would not entertain cutting off either branch, afterall that is why I joined them in the first place. Thanks for the comments though.

This is a few more pictures with more detail of the trunk of this Pro Nana.
This is from the front and slightly to the left.

This is from the top looking down, its hard to see but on the right trunk at the dead branch stub is where it bends towards the back before turning up.

This is from the backside, you can better see where the trunk bends backwards at the dead branch stub.

Sorry for the picture quality but I can not seem to get great shots of my Bonsai.

Well, as its been about 2 years since I trimmed the roots, I removed it from the pot and trimmed about half of the roots, removed some foliage and wired it a bit. I was thinking about my root up look and then thought as I have plenty long thick roots why not wrap them around a piece of rock. I took out my trusty sledge and smashed my big piece of red lava rock and got a nice piece and wrapped the roots, wired them to the rock and sunk it a little over halfway into some soil/bark chips/lava rock mix.

This is now the front, I leaned it back a little more to show off the branching. This is the front.

And this is the back.

Next year I will pull it up a few inches to show more rock, at least thats the plan, stan.

Ed, did you continue developing this tree?

This was one of mine that froze and died in Oct. of 2013. We had bad rain then it dropped to 18 degrees and I did not get home till almost midnight. The roots on this actually cracked from the freeze and part of the larger trunk. I watched it wither away over the next few months.

Sorry to hear about the tree, that is a drastic weather change. If the tree itself split from freezing, did the pot manage to survive? I really fancy that pot.

That pot was actually a bowl I drilled a hole in the bottom of. The white feet were moldable epoxy I formed and stuck on. The bottom of the pot was glazed so the feet kept coming loose. I tossed it when the plant died, it was too much effort trying to keep th feet on.
