Attached are a couple of photos of a Chinese Elm that I have that has sat outside since I got it back in the spring. I let it go kinda wild all summer and just worked on getting it healthy. It seems to be healthy enough and I was hoping it would be completly bare by now so I could see what I had to work with but the leaves are still hanging on.
My questions are as follows..................
1. Do I leave it right where it sits all winter, (I'm in zone 5 and we've already
had snow), or do I put it in my unheated garage?
2. I intend to carve on the trunk to eliminate some of the dead wood. Is there one time of year better than another to do so?
-thanks
