Two species, one pot.

I was doing some repotting and put together this maple forest made up of seedlings I've started and some cuttings I took last year from my azalea contest entry I have more azalea that I could put in but I didn't want to crowd them out as they get bigger.

It's leafing out nicely. I put a little moss to soften it up a little. I know it's more penjing but I like the landscape aspect. It's more like a scene as opposed to a specimen.

Yeah, they form a nice canopy with one reaching a little farther up than the others. The red maple forest is one of my favorites, I like to bend down and look up through the foliage. I think that I probably look pretty funny looking at my trees sometimes.

Maples from seed, three and four years. And the azaleas are from cuttings. Totally doable from scratch, just time.

If you enter my garden you will be surprised about the weird mixes of plants, im always planting seeds or cuttings in pots with other plants already in them.. and you can get crazy combinations. Most of them seem to work strangely enough..

I'm really liking this one. It's looking like a small maple grove. It's going to get a haircut shortly.
