TX weather ;)

Yes, Dario,

we are in August. There will be two weeks of uncomfortable weather. No breezes, highs around 93 deg.F for 3 to 4 hours, with lows in the high 70's and rain.

Then if we are lucky, the cool air will arrive and the lows will prevail for 16 hours say 70's. Can still hit the 86 to 90 deg.F, but for only an hour or less, and more breeze / rain.

I am told we are getting some Sahara dust presently, but not sure if that is true for this month.

Trees are still growing well and I collected some beautiful pre-bonsai of Sageretia t. from the yard. The birds are spreading the joy.
The trick is to not get attached to any of them, as they take up to 4 months to prove. Sometimes they grow well, and then just drop dead.
BUT two were really beautiful, just over an 1" in trunk size and graceful. Should make very elegant shapes in the guava style.
[ do you remember guavas ? ]
Good Morning.
Anthony

Guava is one of the trees I had the most around our old house so yes, cannot forget it. :) Most of my slingshots and spinning top are made of guava wood. Not sure how you guys play spinning top but in the Philippines, it is brutal for the top and the aim is to damage and crack the opponent's so the wood have to be very strong.

Sounds good. Our fall should start to kick in next month...hopefully my trees will have their 2nd burst of growth before freezing cold weather comes.

Dario,

Yes, that's how the guys played at tops and marbles as well.Lol.
Which is why, one used the marbles in the spray cans, unsmashable with a ball bearing slug shot - ha ha ha.
Good Morning.

ARGH! If the house we bid on this week goes through it seems to me we will be moving in Winter :p Going to have "pack" the trees for wintering and moving *shugs*:p

It's sooooo dang hotttttt this is why there are organics in my soil mix.

Wow,feels like autumn closing in around my way,the 10 day is mostly upper 70's

We will have another growing season from late September through November. Usually don't get first freeze until thanksgiving.

i live a good ways north of al, but still in the sacramento valley. in july we got over 110 a couple of times. it was pretty warm even for this area. i don't know how you keep plants alive without some organic material in the mix. i can watch the akadama dry out. hell, a squirrel knocked over one of my sprayers and a trident went two days without water and i swear it looked like it burst into flames.
