Ume... What to do?

I bought this apricot tree from George Muranaka and dug it out of the ground in Feb. (first photo). The second photo shows how it looks today.

Is there anything I should be doing with it this Spring?

Well, I would use aluminum wire to wire all the branches so you don't have to end up cutting them off. If you wire them you can spread them out and give them movement. It you leave them then they will just keep going up and be straight.

I'd suggest some hard pinching so you can start to control the foliage up top. Probably a bit early for wiring.
