I picked up this willow leaf ficus. As expected it started dropping some leaves shortly after arriving from fedex. I gave it some water and good bright but not too direct light, but noticed it was extremely pot bound and that the water was drying up way too fast.

I decided to take off the pot which was extremely difficult as the wire had grown into the trunk and there was hardly any soil left. I cut off some big long thicker roots that were circling the top of the pot and raked out the finer roots and trimmed the longer ones pointing down. It fit really nicely back in the pot which I filled with akadama, pomice, lava rock, fine pine park. It’s been a couple of days and surprisingly no more leaves have dropped, and I gave it some extra light it looks to be greening up. I know it’s not an ideal time to do this but seemed necessary anything I else I should look out for ? Thanks
