I just ran across this University of Georgia Extension Office guide to Selecting and Growing Azaleas. It is very nicely done, with color pictures, tables, diagrams, and covers the entire range of planting and caring for azaleas. It has several pages of explanations of native, introduced cultivars, and hybrid azaleas. If you are growing azaleas in 6B-8B, this will probably be helpful to you.
