Unknown stone with maybe calcite?

Can anybody identify this stone? It looks like it might have calcite or something internally. The guy who sold it to me said he found it in Thomas Creek in Corning, California. He didn't know what it was.

FWIW, I posted about this on a rock forum and was told it was limestone with calcite.

That’s what it looks like to me as well, I have lots of it around my location.

Place it in vinegar and let it sit for a bit, if you start seeing bubbles develop it’s limestone.
