I have a tiny one I'm growing out because I like the leaf shape, fall colors, flowers, fruit... But the internodes are huge! This website says you can pinch out the new growth to stop the extension. https://rockymtnbonsai.com/index.ph...nsai-inter-node-and-leaf-reduction-technique/

Doesn't seem like that technique should be viburnum specific to me though.
