Video of Wire Lecture with Mauro Stemberger.

Good video on the subject. If you are just getting into bonsai take the time to learn how to wire. That doesn't mean just put some wire on the tree and hope, you have to have a plan, a purpose and the knowledge of what you are doing. I have seen many examples of wiring on this site and others by people who do not have an idea of what they are doing. They get points for trying I just hope to admonish them you have to learn how this is done. Out side of the Horticultural stuff there is no more important subject than wiring, it is part and parcel of the entire art project of the bonsai experience.

When I first started I knew I was bad at wiring and just did it a bunch until I thought I was ok. Now I realize I still don't know what Im doing. :) Great video, I really liked the "U" section with clockwise/counter and the section on clockwise/counter dependent on which direction the branch needs to be bent. Well worth the 28 minutes, thanks for posting.

Mauro is a great guy. Talented and kind. I reached out to him many years ago about a stupid question and he gave me very good advice and information in a very patient way. You want to know about how to handle evergreen oaks? He's your man.

I agree. I did a workshop with him a couple of years ago and he is an excellent and very patient teacher. He made learning extremely fun. Great guy.
He even remembered me 2 years at a workshop when he came to one of my clubs and did a demonstration. We are going to have a workshop with him in April that I made sure to sign up for.
