visiting Old Tjikko, the oldest tree on earth

Led by Thor Holvila, Jennifer Price, Thomas Haering and WP recently had the privilege to visit the oldest tree on earth - 9,550 years old.
I know, it's hard to believe and it will cause lots of questions.
See the English Wikipedia : httphttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Tjikko
or the German one: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Tjikko

The high tree is only around 300 years old. The big shrub on the ground is the old tree.

Oldest clonal tree. Neat.

Actually, they believe the oldest clonal tree to be Pando... a quaking aspen grove in Utah that is estimated to be 80,000 years old. None of the individual trees are that old, but the organism is estimated to the that old. Old Tjikko is the oldest trunk from a clonal tree. I believe the oldest single trees are the bristlecone pines in the White Mountains of California.
