Watering with a Flat Soaker Hose (fabric)

Hello nutters! Has anyone tried the newer soaker hoses that are flat and covered with fabric. I've read that some people have had inconsistent watering from the rubber ones. Looking to set something up with a timer for vacation. My soil is about 30% organic (pine bark). Last year I used a sprinkler and had a few problems.

I know some people use a drip system. Wanted to see if I could get away with a soaker hose for a few weeks in the summer. Anyone have any information?

Probly with a overhead sprinkler too.

I never liked vacations before Bonsai, now I despise them outright.

I've never used a soaker hose...
But I've used several strategically placed sprinklers and a timer.
