If you happen to be in Southwest Michigan, Wavecrest Nursery is going out of business. Their last day of business will be Sept 30, 2016.

Located along the shore of Lake Michigan, just south of Douglas-Saugatuck , west of Fennville, MI, north of South Haven.

Take Interstate 196 to highway M 89 (Fennville), go west toward Lake Michigan. At road end, turn right to go north. About 0.5 mile, entrance to nursery is on right.

They have more different cultivars of Hinoki than I have ever seen gathered in one place. Most of their nursery stock is in 3 to 10 gallon nursery pots. Most has been in their pots for a number of years, so stock is nicely trunked up.

Chamaecyparis obtusa - at least 15 different cultivars from 1 gallon pots to 20 gallon, & ball & burlap.
Magnolia hybrids - they had been Magnolia hybridizers
Ilex - many Ilex species and hybrids - they were active hybridizers.
they have all sorts of deciduous, including Stewartia, Styrax, Deutzia, Berbis, Maples, including Japanese maples.
They have several sizes of Pinus parviflora JWP, P. strobus, P. flexilis, also various Picea,

Lots of interesting and bonsai possible stock. They at one time had fairly extensive dwarf conifer selection, somewhat thinned out now, but still many odd treasures left. This is were I had gotten the batch of Cryptomeria japonica var. lobbii nana at, for $5 each in 3 gallon pots.

You have about 2 weeks to get there.
