Hi,

After seeing this wax myrtle at Lowe's I started noticing them everywhere here in Tampa, and had to buy it. I bought it about a week ago and gave it a trim, I'll move it to a grow box in the spring. It doesn't really have tapper, so I'll have to plan a design around this.

Irene told me she has tried this species and might also post some of her photos. Anybody else working on any wax myrtles? They are everywhere here in Florida, and from my limited observations some of them grow as small bushes like a bonsai on their own.

Jose, I picked this one up at a club auction.
They do bud back very well.

Irene, that is a very fine tree. I like the radial roots and the fact that (unlike mine) it has a decent taper. Thanks very much for the quick reply.

Jose, I have done very little to this tree.
It was 5 foot tall in the standard nursery pot and dirt.
It was removed from the pot and whacked last spring (roots and top).
I do believe in experimenting on trees to see what they can do.
