Weeping blue spruce

My parents are getting rid of a weeping blue spruce. Thinking about a trunk chop. These any good for a newb? Otherwise they tossing it.

I guess is grafted so the value for bonsai would be dictated on how good is graft is, How tall is the plant?

It's got a big trunk and no taper lol. The base of trunk runs parallel to ground and then curve up after 5 inches or so. Thinking about chopping few inches above curve.

Honestly dont seems to have a great potential for bonsai, but you could try to save it as a practice tree with low expectations
