I kept wondering why the bonsai tools were in the kitchen? But dang it's clean. Looks like surgery is about to be performed.

I did so much repotting this spring/summer. My root hook, root rake and shears got a workout.

Does that picture seem sinister to anyone else? 🤔 Can't you hear a little voice saying "Please, Jim, we're fine with three tools -- honest, I'll back-bud, I'll bloom, I'll do it tomorrow, I'll start now, only don't use the potato masher, please please please!"
😂😂😂
yea guess does look pretty surgically sinister!

I actually keep almost all my tools in a Dickies paint brush roll-up, works well; however, these three I keep in the drawer just beneath the metal torture tray for ease of access because I use them so often. The potato masher is rarely used although also a vital tool😳

Interesting answers.

By far the three most used tools for me are scissors, Jin pliers, and wire cutters.

I primarily work with conifers and seem to be wiring and un-wiring my trees constantly.

I suppose that might be why I use those the most.

Is the different tape so you can tell them apart from the handles without seeing the head of the tool?

My unconventional responses:

Reciprocating saw (for cuttin stuff including root balls)

Cake spatula (https://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Icing-Spatula-13-Inch-Angled/dp/B00F0A6FYU/) for getting stuff out of pots. It's awesome because you can hammer on one end of it!
Am curious, did you come upon this idea by accident or did you see it and think, "That would work?" I always! appreciate it when people share a link to where they bought something new or unusual.

When I take my tools to a class or meeting, the tape helps me identify which tools are mine. And ensures I don’t lose them!
