In the summer of 2017, I received a Natal plum in a class I had taken. Unknown to me at the time, it already had a root fungus that would shortly kill it. While pruning it, I inadvertently reached too far with the scissors and cut off a little interior sprig, maybe 3 inches long. I decided to attempt to root the cutting, and it took. After awhile, it became this, big enough to put into a 2” tall pot.

Fast forward to today, and that little accidental cutting became this:

Sometimes good things come out of misfortune. Might be something to remember in the new year. Anyone with a similar experience?
