Like the tree thread, a pic required w/each post. Just for fun.
I thought it would be a fun thread for everyone to post what the did today regarding their Bonsai collection, along the lines of the tree thread where a pic is required or it didn't happen w/your post. Before and after even better but not required.
Show us what you did with your bonsai today.

I'll start. I wired up an Eastern Larch.
I won't tell you I broke off two branched yesterday in the process. It was cold and stiff so I put it in the basement overnight to finish today.

I cut back and cleaned up this exposed root shohin jbp in preparation for wiring, hopefully tomorrow.

Fun thread, I picked up a load of bonsai soil from the Atlanta Bonsai Society annual buy. Thanks ABS !

• I took cuttings of Ume, then wired up some of last year's cuttings, realizing pretty quickly that I shouldn't have waited so long as they were pretty snappy. (Even when I doubled up on the wire.) Cuttings into the fridge for a month or so.
• Made a few decisions as to what I'll be growing in my growbeds this spring.
• Finally cut off an area of my corkbark elm I'd intended to airlayer ...but waiting on doing that was becoming a hindrance to its development. I think the resulting trunkline has some promise.

Been spending the week at Mirai repotting. The group completed a few stone plantings, a few initial repotting for yamadori and a handful of established trees.

Went to the grand opening of Bob Pressler’s new garden, and then went home and sifted pumice. (Pumice not pictured.)

Bought a Fuji Japan pot for $ 2.99 and a hand thrown vessel with a three medallion for .99 at Goodwill.

Finished my zelkova forest composition today

Put up the shade cloth - 50% - for the summer here. After the job was done I moved all maples to the bench under the cloth, and moved all conifers to full sun.

I am getting over the flu so not much outdoor work for me. I pruned back my Christmas tree, imagining for the nth time that I will actually make something of it as a bonsai! I usually lose patience and go in too hard, only to chuck them out in a couple of months. We then went artificial for a couple of years, so this is the first time back! I then spent some time sorting some photos and uploading them to my bonsai journal. I couldn't find the kind of journal I wanted over Xmas so built one online myself.
