Nice buckets but...
2L of premixed soil will not take you long.
Come next Spring if you have more than 10 trees to repot, you will need a lot more soil.

Yup
I have my seperate soil components in 4 big plastic storage boxes and I mix together one or two 5 gallon buckets at a time.

Worked my first session as docent at my club's display pavilion at
Meadowlark Botanical Garden. Lots of fun; about 50 visitors during the 3 hours I was there.

Going to start a grow bed in this sun drenched location on the side of my yard. 12' long. 5ft wide. Maybe 8 inches high or so? Going to build a raised bed of sorts with the bottom of the bed 24"x24" patio blocks to prevent roots growing straight down. This is right next to the bonsai area. It will allow me to clear some space from trees that are ready for a few years in ground. After roots are sorted out, and a decent nebari started, I could drop them in for a few years of rapid growth, or for trees which need to get vigor and energy back after years in pots.

Moved this too-little Benjamina ficus over to a Sonny Boggs pot that caught my eye. Guess...this wee cutting isn't going anywhere. But so small...I doubt it gets counted in my headcount. 😉😁View attachment 489740View attachment 489741View attachment 489742View attachment 489743
I did the reverse today, but I wanna take it to a mini pot like yours next season.
April 25th tiger bark in 5 inch oval glazed, started lowering left branch

Up potted to a 10 inch long training pot, it also grew quite a bit since april 25th. I'm not sure what to do with the nub on the right, I might cut it down lower and make it a primary branch if I can make the cut on the rear to hide it and let it heal over with growth and vigor. Re used wire with bad technique to get left branch lower lol. I'll be damned if I dont re use that wire a few more times!

Ugly clip and grow elbow there, but i'll work with it, maybe some re-scarring after it gets some vigor in a pot will help clean it up. Air layer gonna come off in 6 weeks, roots or not.
