Don't worry Andy , they're just shpwin you the nice areas and hiding the rest.

Al , hope you don't mind if I steel a couple of ideas from you. The last two shots in post 37 would look great down by the lower pond.

Andy, there are some incredable trees in those photo's. I would love to have any one of them.

Vance, you made your backyard out to be a mess. I was very amazed at the way you have your trees. Reminds me of the way Mas Imazumi's backyard used to look.

Awesome pics everyone!

That's very kind of you Al, but it's still a mess. Sometimes I can't find a place to put a tree down thinking that I will have to go through the rest of my life holding the thing in my hands.

Here are a couple of more shots and that's all folks.

Yea that little maple looks kinda outa place with all those pines. If Irene doesn't really want it just send it to me freight collect. Poor little thing.

Ok, I'm game also. Here is my front yard (the backyard is not used).
I've been working on this off and on for a few months and this thread motivated me to do a little more this weekend...Even got my favorite daughter to help.

The Maple is not so little, it is the Maple I have shown a number of times on the net.

Thank you everyone for letting us into your world. Some great shots, lots of lovely bonsai but more importantly, some great ideas on how to display. I particularly like Als shohin pergoda.

Some views of the business end of my yard after I cleaned up my mess from adding a shelf to the shohin area and adding a couple tables to hold a couple junipers.(more on those later)

Some close ups on the shohin. I have two tree Wizards protecting my shohin.

I like the half-hex shohin area.
it reminds me of a smaller one I had YEArssss ago. I had just bought a beautiful new gazeebo that a builder was using as a "demo" for real cheap.. Hexagon. Built a square deck for it. Got some angle irons and lags to bolt down the legs...tomorrow!
That night. micro burst spread it all over the front yard.
Insurance paid REAL good and they calle builder and he gave them a price on a new one. I got a new bigger one with improvements I wanted.

I took the pieces of the torn up one and built a similar cedar latice roofed half-hex building sorta like yours.
long long ago.....in a garden far far away!!
Well, actually, down the street in old house.

Wasn't this yard devastated by a storm too? Didn't you lose that bridge to a tree crashing into it and some bonsai smashed or am I thinking of someone else?

This fenced in garden is 100 feet X 40 feet and contains ONLY my personal trees. Outside the fence are areas for MORE personal trees on benches on deck and demo/workshop/retail stuff scattered around.

Yes al.
You see TWO bridges in Pics. New "Insurance Bridge" is nicer, heavier.
Lost tree and several bonsai. ALSO micro bursts!!!
I removed three more trees in garden after that.
Before...tooo much shade...now...not enough!!

Getting too old to maintain this. Told wife, lets tear down fence, plow over, fill pond and keep 30 trees! I've had it!!

Heres my club buddy building my new bridge off old floor. The insurance made it MUCH nicer than old.
Larry has been my savior with MANY projects here including the deck for my gas kiln and helping me build the steel shed for it and installing the vent in roof. It's great having a carpenter friend!! He also does VERY nice daiza.!!

Well, nothing I have is that elaborate, by any means. Over the last year I have put more stuff back in the ground than most have potted up, lol. Anyhow, I did promise, so here is some of my yard.

I showed my growing fields earlier in this thread, later I will show the beds I have made next to my cabin for collected stock. For now, it's just my yard and my humble gardens, I will show my mushroom growing shed and my other stock on another post....

The landscaping is 90% bonsai material in various forms of development, everything else is flowers, fruit, or berries for the daughter. ;) There is always something tucked in here and there....
