What (Florida) pest does this, & how to treat?

Whatever it is, it has only touched these two local natives -- Sida ulmifolia and Sida acuta -- and only the freshest of the mature leaves. I've clipped off the affected ones.

Yep
I also get leaf miners in my kumquat and lantana.
it’s ugly, but the plants keep growing.

It's a leaf miner of some sort. Get them on my citrus. Preventative spraying usually does the trick. I hear spinosad-containing sprays work well and they're organic I think.
Thanks -- I'll look into that. These little plants are free for the digging, but I like them a lot and hope they'll shape up well over time, if I can keep them healthy.

That's reassuring -- I think I have seen it on wild lantana, come to think of it.
