Another accidental from seed. You gotta love the variables with seeds.

The tree is about 6 inches tall. Maybe 4 or 5 years old ?
Has a good few branches and roots are rising slowly.
Soil is our basic 7 parts 5 mm inorganic to 3 parts organic.
Earthenware pot - porous.
Placement - full sun

I will here confess, we have not really been looking for a way to get
smaller needles, but getting the branches to backbud.

A simple way to keep the trees compact.

By the way, we have had shorter needles at 1 to 1/2 inch ,appear on the
various trees, so I would cautiously say, yes it is possible in the Tropics.

Anyhow, this tree is going to be propagated to see if the bushy
quality will re-appear.

Now, it has been examined at least 6/7 times.
Possibles -

[1] Thin out for branch training and trunk thickening.
say 1 inch trunk to 6 inches of height.

[2] Which means bottom branches allowed to grow out,
and top suppressed.

[3] mini - ramification

[4] Getting the roots to surface and hopefully design them
to be attractive.

We are going to try and do it in the same pot, and probably
use pine compost.
Big pine repotting coming after Christmas about 8 victims.

Let us say 6 / 7 years ?
Good Day
