Hey everybody, I asked you all when was the best time to collect a cotoneaster tree from open ground and it turned it was spring. However my neighbour said that he was taking it up today and if I wanted it then deal with it,! So here it is I have potted it in a large pot with normal compost soil but in the middle where it is planted I have have made a w ell of sharp sand gravel and dehydrated volcanic rock. I trimmed the large roots and spread some rooting hormone around the wounds. I have also tried all the cuts with wound sealant. My question to you guys is how to proceed on the proviso that it grows at all! Thank you for reading

My experience with cotoneasters is that they grow like weeds. I bet you have no problem with it, let it set for a week in the shade to help it recover, water when it starts to dry out, after that move it into some morning sun for another week and it should respond by putting out some new growth. If it does fertilize it and move it into full sun as they like that and leave it alone till next year and let it grow. Good luck !

I realized that the files were too big so here we are slightly smaller enjoy will take some better ones tomorrow when the sun has risen!

Looks like a worthwhile subject for a clump style.

Look pretty good to me.
