What's bottom temp for most pines in central CA?

This is my first winter at the new house and the trees are COMPLETELY exposed on a rack outside.
I used to ( rightly or wrongly) stick em under the patio cover if it got down to the high teens or lower 20's.

Would they take it?

JBP, Scots, and a juniper. Well, two junipers.

And an Ulmus.

All the species listed will easily withstand temporary cold that fall into the upper teens ie. at the end off a cold night right before the sun rises. Long lasting cold in the low 20's or lower would require more protection at the root zone to guarantee no cold related injury.

You look to be in USDA Zone 9b-- USDA zones are based on the average annual minimum winter temperature. 9b is 25 to 30. The conifers should be fine. The elm and olive (especially the olive) will need some protection, like mulched on the ground.

Whoops- didn't see the olive. I'm pretty sure they shouldn't be subjected to freezing temps at all.
