What's wrong with this maple?

I have this maple in front of my house. My wife planted it last year, and it was doing fine. Now, it has some kind of blight. It burned out all new growth and the leaves in the next node are mishap. Any idea what it is and how to treat it? Thanks!

It just looks dry (loosing turgidity) to me.

Does out look 'perkier' in the morning and drop in the afternoons or is it just the same all day long?

All the same. But I will increase watering

You can also sprinkle the foliage when you do.

Mile high sun and 20% rH will make anything quickly dry.
