In Bonsai Today #20 and on Jonas' blog they say the stems should turn purple/violet before you can take the cuttings. My seedlings are only 3 weeks old and their stems seem to have turned purple already. Shouldn't the real needles appear first before I do the cuttings? Or am I color blind and is this still pink? Any advice is appreciated.
