Hi all

i posted like before that I got a hold of alot of korean pine nuts....
So i started to plant the pine nuts into some soil...and they started to germinate. While i was checking up on the pine nuts that have not germinated, I have noticed that some seeds became empty:confused: When i place those empty seeds into water, a lot of white micro-worms started to come out...so i got scared and pulled all the none germinated seeds out of the soil and found

7 seeds had opened, but there were those white worms crawling at the opening area...
4 seeds were empty and each had like 3-4 fat big white worms in them...

any idea what those worms are???

Thanks

J

Probably nematodes. could be harmful, might not be, depends on the species. They are extremely common in soil.

Thanks

I can have those seeds(with worms) in a cup full of water, they are still swimming around...and some of them are still coming out of the seed or trying to go inside some of the seeds...

are they harmful to seedlings? or is it just seeds?

Thanks

J
