Not very motivated today so I visit @Brian Van Fleet blog (https://nebaribonsai.wordpress.com). Very informative and lots of useful stuff there. It is a shame that this tree didn't get display last year at the 6th National Show. I think Brian is known to be one of the best 'not-pro' for JBP on this forum. I would be more than happy with the version he did but... looks at the version after Bjorn edited. The pads looks so awesome. I especially like the bottom of the pads.
If I only get to see the first picture, I would think that is awesome but seeing the second picture next to it make you think twice about what can and can't be improved.
Cool blog if you don't already know.
Cheers.

The difference is where to place the “elbow”, as Boon calls it. Most of us tend to slightly turn the twigs up near the tip. (Myself included). The trick is to leave the tips going out straight, but turn the twigs up back closer to the main branch. It is something that I have to work extra hard to do correctly.

Nice tree, Brian!
