Newest attempt. Constructive criticism appreciated!

Looks healthy..all foliage pads need to be swept to the left, not just primary branches.

Thanks that is what I was looking for. Is there supposed to be a counter balance?

I'm thinking I would tip it up to the right. Try to make an informal upright.

If you are going for windswept everything needs to go the direction you see the wind blowing. Windswept is hard to pull off. I would go with Mike but if your set on this go ahead and try it

Rick is right. If you wanna go for a windswept style, all the growth should be wired that way (out of the wing) and it's not so easy. I might style the leader more to the left, maybe some jined branches on the right portion. I'd proceed slowly. I've seen some diagrams considering the direction and wind strength somewhere...

I had a start on a windswept. (actually two)
They were in the batch I had to sell because I didn't have time to take care of them when my wife died.

I would have cut off the "wrong" side branch later.

There are different windswept styles. You can have branches on the windward side as long as you keep them stunted-looking. Whenever you feel the tree is healthy enough (in an appropriate season) you'll need to make it look much more beat-up by the wind.
