I got a new winged elm that just arrived today. I'll make sure to get some pictures up tonight (wanted to get it in the sun and a big drink) 👍.

Sadly it was in shipping for a week. The tree itself should hold up fine and is looking 👌. However, the new growth at the top has lost all it's young leaves. Would I be better off to remove the, now leafless, new shoots or leave them to grow new leaves?

Thank you.

Eastern winged elm is pretty bullet-proof. The question about whether to prune the branches that have been defoliated or not is really dependent upon what they look like and how they fit into your future design.

Yea, having had more time to sit down and look him over, seems there was less loss then first thought. It's just I wasn't expecting the paler color. The young shoots seem to be doing good. ☺

Some pictures as promised.
