I have been fighting what I think may be a Fungal issue on my American wisteria all summer. It had cleared up a bit in late June and July but it's back worse than ever. The new growth doesn't have the issue, then it will look like some yellow spotting until the leaf turns full yellow. I have been picking yellowed leaves from the tree and disposing of them. I've tried a couple of treatments with spectracide immunox (label below) but the problem persists. Can someone offer any advice?

If you're sure that's not just natural renewal of leafs..
First have a look at the environment, it seems to favor the fungi. If you can change that, and the health of the tree, it can help combat fungi itself.

Second, if the fungicide doesn't work, the fungus is resistant to that type. It either evolved that way due to exposure (thanks horticultural industry and gardeners!) Or it has been that way since the start. Trying another fungicide might be an idea, but I believe this can be fixed with peroxide sprays (at least mildew can) and otherwise a copper sulfate based spray.

But it's best to tackle the source of the issue, instead of mopping up the fallout. It is most likely plant health related, a little too much water, a bit too little maybe..

Thanks for the advice! I don't think it's regular leaf replacement as it's pervasive through the whole tree and always starts as yellow spotting (pic below). This tree stays in full sun and I don't top water it. I figured as we came into August here I'd see it go away but we have stayed very humid here in TN. I haven't researched the peroxide treatment before you mentioned it and I see that you can do both a foliar spray and soil drench. I may pick up a bottle on my way home from work today and give it a go.

my wisteria has the same stuff going on right now. just noticed this week.

We have black spot going around here too. A lot of my landscape plants are showing signs. As is my American Wisteria. It's not something I overly worry about. It effects the foliage yes...but, I treat and don't stress it.

Are you treating with commercial fungicide or with peroxide as wires guy suggested? How's it working for you?

Commercial fungicide. I've never tried the other route. But honestly...it's been wet here. I am to the point where it is what it is. It isn't treated as often as I would like because of the rain we are having. Rain at night...I think breeds this fungus or helps it's aid in spreading. It's been worse...honestly. I shrug it off. Try to treat when I can...and don't lose sleep over it. You have landscape, or bonsai as a hobby. Fungus happens...aphids happen...and so on. You just try and be proactive to a degree. But if it slips by you...then it does. And you deal with it.

Thanks for clarifying! Its raining here a bunch also. I'll just keep an eye on it and try to do a better job next spring putting fungicide on before bud break as a preventative.

I think I’m close to you being just outside of Nashville...
I use peroxide 2 tbsp/1 liter water, mist daily (especially if it has rained) or ~every other day. Much success, can not praise this enough.....searching osoyoung peroxide
Occasional daconil spray -1/mo.?

This is primarily on beech, hop hornbeam, crepe, a sourwood, elm, hackberry & carpinus

Yup, I'm in Cookeville so we are pretty close. Thanks for chiming in on the peroxide method! I definitely will give it a go.
