Have you ever seen a Eastern weeping white pine and Nishiki black pine chimera over a foot? I am seeking a few examples for better knowledge of structural growth. Thank you.
I think it’s early the cutting is 2 years old but very small. That being said I am guessing EWP because of all the horizontal growth. I tried to contact the Massachusetts Arboretum in June but they are closed during covid.
I knew when I saw it on the graft union almost 3 years ago it would be special but If the tree is as rare as people are saying I would prefer to give it to a professional for further propagation rather than hoard the only one and possibly loose it. My dick neighbor has bad needle cast on his whites he won’t treat so I have kept it in a window. I will want it out for it’s first true spring this April and I’d rather it was somewhere safer.
Sadly I don’t have any photos of its first year cause I was hospitalized and a family member updated my phone. The following is all I could find and I would say they are at a year and 2 months and this spring.
