Yes , Salix and on decline in Scotland .
I held a few pots up against it but this one just looked right .

Salix nakamurano yezo (alpina). Japanese alpine willow. Will naturally grow as Cascade, Produces catkins very young, barks up pretty quick, very young leaves fuzzy and when rained upon in Sun shine look like covered in diamonds(Magical). As they mature fuzzy goes away. Fuzzy wuzzy wasn't fuzzy wuzzy🤪? Love the leaf shape.

Nice pot .The leaves looks a bit too hairy to be the native Scottish Salix lanata. What species was it sold to you as?

It was a gift from my teacher as was the pot . I'll try and find out some history though .
