That would depend on the price...?...lol

Kind of hard to see what's inside but a pretty substantial trunk with lots of low branches.

PS Who mows that NFL field in your backyard?

Hmm, Is it pre-bonsai?

Isn't there a conventional bonsai formula for this as well?

Old+Juniper=Bonsai potential

When was the third picture taken?? The others show a full rootball, but that one shows a tiny rootball.....?

Nope. Probably has some potential for bonsai, but I don't care for p. nana or San Jose.

I think I would have overlooked it(working on getting a good eye) but I'd love to see what you've done with it.

Even without being able to inspect the branching closely the trunk alone is worth the risk of purchase. With this kind of tree branching is pretty much a non issue because it can be easily re-grown, or grafted.

Some working photos of what I did with it.

Further work is being done on the under side of the trunk where a long cascadeing branch was cut back. Most of the deadwork was done with thread pulling after cutting back.

This is the tree after potting into a Japanese drum pot.

Took a couple years to get it healthy and keep the pinching under control.

Thanks for the comments.

The others show a tree in a can, the third shows a tree out of the can and cut back. That is what I cut the ball down to after taking it out of the fiva gallon nursery container.

From there it was planted back in the five gallon nursery container in free draining mix and fertilized havily.

Got a little trigger happy with my last post, thatast pic is thr one I was waiting for. Great vision on how this one ended up.

I'd be proud to own that "Ratty old half dead juniper".

Oh now I recognize that tree. I remember that from the display at the spring show. Great work man!
