Hello. I’m looking for some input on addressing the Y-shaped “slingshot” trunk on my jade. My thinking is to shorten one of the two trunks to more resemble a branch, but the issue I see is that the branch in question is already rather thick. I’m debating whether the entire branch should be removed and regrown or if I can take this less drastic approach and work with what’s here? Are there other styling options I’m not yet seeing?

Thanks in advance.

If it were mine, I would cut both branches as in photo 4 and regrow. You will probably get some budding down lower as well. I have a big Jade that is about 16" tall and trunk diameter of about 2.5" inches that I cut back pretty severely and will let grow for a couple years then going to cut back again to get the canopy down lower
