Hello all,
I live near Dayton, Ohio, southwestern Ohio zone 6 for those that don’t know. I would consider myself moderately experienced with bonsai and have a decent collection ruin of almost 30 trees. However, I have never done any yamadori. I would love to collect some wild trees, as I love hiking and whatnot, but I would imagine the metro parks would not allow you to dig up plants on their property.
So, I am asking for advice as to where to collect yamadori. It is the perfect time of year to go out and mark trees since they are starting to show their fall color and haven’t fully lost their leaves yet. I’m not asking for anyone’s secret spots for yamadori, but I’d like to know if there is a good yamadori scene in Ohio. I just don’t know where to look other than my normal hiking trails
