Here is a couple pics of a wild plum I collect 2 years ago.
I lets the lowest branch grow all season and trimmed it back this year.
the top was really nice but the tree dried out last year and the whole top died which was nicely ramified by deer that really sucked. Anyway I think there is still potential for it to be a nice tree at some point.

Here is wild ]

I appreciate the variety of trees there BB.!

Great taper, definitely reworkworthy!

Another too small pot IMO.

I'll enjoy watching this one come back!

thanks! Do you think the development is really slowed being in this size of a pot?
I am guilty of trying to get them in smaller and smaller pots every time I can.
probably not such a good Idea If I'm also trying to grow branches.

This is a cool tree!

The large branch that is pointing slightly downward sticks out as “incorrect.” I like the rule that a tree will look more consistently pleasing if all branches leave the trunk at similar angles. Since this is a non-mountainous deciduous tree then it would make sense for all branching to go upward.
