Good to see the tree make it. Only thing is that those flowers are "Kwanzan" flowers not "Yoshino".

"Yoshino" are typically white, some very light pink. "Kwanzan" are the last of the flowering cherries to flower.
Wow that's very good to know. The only reason I thought it was "Yoshino" was that it came with the 10 free trees from the Arbor Day Foundation many years ago! At least that's what it said on the label. I'm not sure that'll change the treatment.......or will it?

Thanks Judy. Do you mean the bud itself or the tree getting too wet. The aborted buds were beside fully flowered ones or part of a healthy cluster. Just wondering if the tree will support so many and after that......oh well.
you got me. it's putting on a show regardless.
